A big day for Miss Maddy

Maddy lost her first tooth! I really had a hard time with it too. It really hit me then that my "baby" isn't a baby any longer. I, ahem, may or may not have cried a little (or a lot) about it on my way home. It didn't help that the girls were listening to the Hannah Montana Movie soundtrack and the Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus song, "Butterfly Fly Away" came on. Fuel to the fire I guess.

You tucked me in, turned out the light
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that

Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
Had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when I looked back

You had to do it all alone
Make a living, make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be

And when I couldn't sleep at night
Scared things wouldn't turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to me

Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Can't go far but you can always dream

Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry, hold on tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly fly away

Butterfly fly away (Butterfly fly away)
Got your wings, now you can't stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true

Butterfly fly away (Butterfly fly away)
You've been waiting for this day
All along, you know just what to do

Butterfly, Butterfly, Butterfly
Butterfly fly away

Butterfly fly away

Butterfly fly away

For a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus/Billy Ray Cyrus song, man, it can sure tug on those heartstrings.

You're gonna make me cry... I'm no huge fan of the cyrus crew, but the sentiments that go along with babies growing up too fast... yeah.

I was wondering if you cried... I would and probably will when Olivia loses her first tooth!

Wow...so the time has come?! I keep thinking about that time too...yet another milestone. It always makes me realize how much the kids are changing when this sort of thing happens. CONGRATS MADDY!
